Momentum Garage Q3 Wrap-Up: Driving Community Impact

We’re thrilled to close Q3 with a powerful act of generosity at Momentum Garage! We donated a fully refurbished Honda Odyssey van to Corbin and Katie Mayfield of Dickson, TN. This family of five, with three young kids, was relying on borrowing grandma’s car—until now!

Corbin works full-time at Take 5 in Nashville, is finishing school, and plans to join the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell. This van will give their family the freedom and reliability they need, and we’re excited to see their kids cruising in style!

A huge thank you to Dave and Amy Dillbeck for donating the van. It’s inspiring to see vehicles back on the road, serving our community. Let’s keep the momentum rolling!

Q3 Financial Highlights

  • Year-to-Date Donations: $8,503.72! Your support is transforming lives—thank you, donors!

  • Year-to-Date Expenses:

    • Advertising & Marketing: $1,867.96 (initial startup costs for logo design, print preparation, business cards, stickers, and custom air fresheners to boost our brand). We should not have to spend much more here for a good bit.

    • 2005 Honda Odyssey Refurb [Donated Car / Gifted Car]: $815.32 (brakes, spark plugs, fluids, filters, O2 sensors, and minor fixes).

    • 2007 Ford Freestyle Refurb [Donated Car / Sold Car]: $143.31 (attempted transmission repair; sold for $350, netting +$206.69 as a donation)

    • Miscellaneous Auto Parts: $262.50 (repairs for Momentum Garage customer cars, covered by donations amount - may need a more effective way to account for these; I will ask our CFO).

    • Office Supplies: $80.00 (non-profit QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping).

    • Shipping: $51.96 (parts deliveries).

    • Shop Equipment: $72.98 (AC Gauge and Manifold set for AC recharges).

    • Shop Supplies: $237.02 (fluids, lubricants, paper towels, shop rags, brake cleaner).

    • Taxes & Licenses: $29.14 (titling fees for donated cars).

  • Ending Balance: $4,943.52, enough to refurbish SEVERAL more cars!

Immediate Needs

  • Donated Cars: We’re ready to refurbish more vehicles—spread the word!

  • Bi-Directional Scan Tool: $600 for advanced diagnostics and repairs.

Intermediate Needs

  • Space to Grow: Once we get things rolling, we’ll outgrow our current setup quickly (my driveway - hah!). Seeking donated or low-cost storage units, warehouse space, or garages to expand our impact.

Long-Term Goals

  • 2026 Fundraising: Planning for growth to reach more families in need. Ideas and partnerships welcome!
