HERE WE GO!
Momentum Garage is up & running! We’ve dotted the i’s, crossed the t’s, and completed a myriad of paperwork! We now have the documents we need to officially operate as a 501c3 Charitable Organization in the State of Tennessee - The Volunteer State, so it seems somewhat appropriate, am I right!
Our next plan is to fully engage the car community. This is a community of like-minded individuals with a passion not just for cars, but a passion for freedom, self-reliance, DIY-everything, learning new skills, and pride in their work and their craftsmanship.
The impetus here is based on both personal passion and experience. As I’ve become more and more entrenched in the car communtity over the last decade or more, I’ve come to realize the car community is about something more that cars. It is truly about a community.
Within this community, folks are always more than willing to lend a hand to someone needing help - a borrowed tool, a spot in their garage, a second set of eyes… Just ask!
Taking their passion beyond car shows, race tracks, and special events, this community is eager to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Mention you have a neighbor needing a brake job, and you’ll have a dozen guys willing to do whatever it takes to get a car - and a neighbor - back on the road. They won’t ask for anything in return, heck - they’re just happy you asked them to help. Beyond brakes, my guess is the car receives a full tune-up, all new fluids, and maybe even a new set of tires - cuz the guys are just gonna show up with all that stuff anyway…
Several years ago, I started trying to figure out my place in this community and where I could make an impact. The result? I founded Momentum Garage.
I want to set a standard for cars & community. I want to bridge the gap between those who are in need with those who feel a need to help. This is truly a “start up” - so here we go!
Phase 1 - Get up and running. Start building funds and collecting donated cars. Build our “pit crew” as we work as a team to refurbish these cars and get them into the hands of those in need. We will partner with local churches and community organizations. We will buy our parts and supplies from locally-owned businesses. We will bank at a locally-owned bank. This is all about community, and we’re building a community with Momentum!
Phase 2 - Momentum Garage needs its own space. We need our garage! A place we can take in our car donations, service them, and then distribute them. Also, a place where we can offer repairs to those who can’t afford the astronomical prices of car repair today. This will be our home base - our place in our community!
Action Today - Join us on this ride! We’re going to have fun, do crazy things, think way outside the box, and we’re going to maximize impact in our community.
Donate, volunteer, help us make connections, and PLEASE spread the word!
